Gente de Mezcal‘s productions go one step further, they’re the result of the ancestral knowledge of the mezcal communities with whom they work. This is a unique encounter with mezcal culture, guided by our expert hosting team. Discover the different flavours and aromas whilst learning about the history and production process of each agave variety. The tasting lasts 2 hours.

Gente de Mezcal also host tastings everyday at 3pm and 7pm in their tasting room, El Salón, in Colonia Juárez. These cost $1000mxn p/person, are available for individual bookings and for private groups of up to 6 participants and can be reserved directly via Airbnb.

A gourmet, fun and educational ‘self-defense’ tasting in which our charismatic Italian sommelier Andrea Lavagnini offers fantastic tips regarding how to select a wine, debunk myths, learn the basic technique for tasting, and enjoy a glass with all the senses through 6 different varieties.
This Experience lasts 3 hours and includes how to choose a wine through sight, smell and taste; how to learn to enjoy the experience with regard to the key characteristics (fruitiness, acidity, tannins, sweetness, persistence); how to pair a wine (common mistakes and daring pairings) and the all important self-defense – how to recognise inflated prices, tall tales and the idiosyncrasies of Mexican wine distribution.
